Kelly Coffey-Meyer's 30 Minutes to Fitness ''Boxfit'' is your cardio/pump workout. It is designed to burn calories and increase overall strength. Workout One is your cardio session and it involves 30 upbeat minutes of shadow boxing that is easy to follow and fun. But don't let the good time fool you, this workout packs a punch. Workout Two is your weightlifting session. Kelly keeps your set up time to a minimum and works each muscle group with only two pairs of dbs. Straight forward, challenging and truly effective. ''BOXFIT'' is your trim down and get strong DVD! Equipment used: Two pairs of dumbbells.
The first workout is comprised of boxing drills. No weights, no step, but nicely aerobic. I really felt like I got a good workout. It's slightly over 30 minutes. The second workout works with two sets of weights, she uses 8 and 12, I use 7 and 10. I don't think it matters as long as you feel like you're working your muscles. It also includes a great ab workout at the end. It's about 35 minutes long. Then, there's a 3rd "special pre-mix". None of these 3 tell you how long they last, so I unwittingly did the Special Premix this morning. It was very a very good mix of the first 2 workouts. It was almost 53 minutes! It went quickly and I didn't notice how long it was until I stopped my smart watch timer. Very sneaky of them not to tell you how long it is because I probably wouldn't have done it if I'd known. But I'm glad I did. I felt very good when I was done. All of the KC-M workouts are the same. The main workouts don't tell you how long they last, but they are usually around 30 minutes. When you go to the premix menu each workout gives you the time. This one has several that are 30 minutes or less and then some that are longer. For people who workout before they go to a job, it's nice to know how long it's going to last.I have quite a few of Kelly's workouts and each one adds another dimension to the mix. I'm glad I added this one because I can feel all the muscles I've worked the last 3 days. Not in a bad way. I'm 67 and need a workout that challenges me, but doesn't kill me. I've quit doing the Jillian Michaels workouts and just do KC-M and a mix of a few others.
