Borrowing from its predecessor, the 2Nd version of the gel-fit sana™ keeps the same fitness focused sole geometry with the addition of a fluid fit™ printed upper. The mono-sock® tongue flexible fit system features elastic bands that provide tension and support from heel to forefoot. Rearfoot gel® cushioning systems combine with the lightweight flexible midsole to provide excellent cushioning. Breaking a sweat has never been so comfortable. In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.
Rubber sole
MONO-SOCK FIT SYSTEM - An elastic internal sleeve which replaces a traditional tongue providing a "sock-like" fit.
Open Mesh Upper - Promotes breathability, ensuring air can reach all confinements of the feet.
Fluid-Fit printed upper - Locks the foot in place for optimal support.
Low-Profile EVA Midsole - Provides bounce-back characteristics and decreases midsole breakdown.
I bought these shoes to wear during my two week trip to Spain because I didn't want to use my running shoes (I like to save them strictly for running/training). They are lightweight and comfortable and I had no problems wearing them ALL DAY long. I put a lot of mileage on them during that trip and they were always comfortable. They are a little difficult to get on (with or without socks) but once on, they are great and felt true to size for me. They are meant to be worn without socks however, I found that wearing them sockless was a mistake as they didn't wick away sweat which meant my feet and the inside of those shoes smelled really bad after wearing them all day. I let them air out, sprayed them with some Febreeze and wore them with thin, "no show" socks front that point forward and all was good. If you don't have sweaty feet you can probably go sockless with no odor issues. I had initially ordered two pair, one in a 6.5 and one in a 6, because I after reading reviews I thought I better try both sizes since some people indicated they ran small but I feel they ran true to size and I'm typically a size 6 and have wide feet. I liked them so much I ordered another pair when I returned home. I don't plan to use them at the gym because I don't think they have enough support (for me) to use them for workout shoes but they are great sneakers for just kickin' around. Hope my review helps others. Enjoy! These shoes absolutely fit my current needs. I purchased the shoe because I needed something lighter and more flexible for the boxing classes I've been taking at my gym, which include some light cardio. These shoes are just the right weight, as well as being something I can wear on the treadmill. They're very thin, so my ankles don't feel like they have much support, but it's very easy to balance and pivot in them. It also feels like there's a lot of space in the toe area, but that hasn't really interfered with performance. They're pretty easy to pull on, though I'm not always sure how tightly I need to lace them up. It's a little strange that the tongue is attached to the body of the shoe all the way up the side, so there's not much give if you order a size too small. Normally I wear 7.5 but I ordered an 8.5 for this. And 8.25 probably would've been perfect, but that wasn't an option, so these worked fine.Definitely met my expectations, however I can only use them for walking as of now due to a medical condition. If I were to use them for running, I'm not sure how long they would last. Asthetically, I love, love, love them! I have gotten so many compliments as well. I got the black and white print and could not be happier. They do run a little small so do your research first... I read reviews first, then went ordered my size based off of those. I would recommend going up half a size to a full size when you order, depending on what you plan to use them for and how active you are. Feet tend to swell during high-intensity exercise and these run narrow. They are however extremely flexible and lightweight... they are the most "stretchy" pair of shoes I have, which I attribute to the material. If you do have very thick and/or wide feet, these might not work for you... more so I would be concerned if you have very thick feet. You could always return them though, especially with Amazon prime. Hope this helps! (Tried to add photos, but unable to. Amazon should fix this. What a shame. )I'm not used to this style so I was nervous I wasn't going to be a size 10 in these. I own a different style of ASICS that are a size 10 so I was hoping I would be the same in all styles of the same brand. It's tough. I range from size 9, 9.5, & 10. So I never know what I am. When the shoes arrived they were somewhat tight at first and I thought oh great. But the more I'm wearing them the looser they are getting so now they are comfortable. I got lucky. I never order shoes & clothes online because I'm scared I'll get the wrong size. Phew! One critique I have though are the bottoms don't grip the ground as good as I was hoping. They aren't terrible but on carpet they are somewhat slippery. On concrete they are good. I do a lot of exercising on my carpet so it's tough maintaining balance when your shoes slip on the carpet.I loved the original Sana but his, I love even more! It's new and improved. The fit and support are much better that the original and it looks more durable. I use this for cross-training and cardio dance classes. See below for my review on the original Sana. Everything still holds true for this one...but better!!!MY REVIEW FOR THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF THIS SHOE:I am in love with these shoes! They are very soft and comfortable and flexible. Perfect for cardio-dance classes, cross-training, HIIT, etc. I don't think this will work for my running routine though because it has very little arch support and it's too minimalist for my liking. I prefer to wear my other Asics shoes that were built for running during my runs. I purchased the pink/purple in a size 7, which is my true size, and will definitely order another is a different color as back-up.UPDATE 10/20/15: Wore it to the gym for the first time last night for HIIT and then a 1 hour cardio-dance class afterwards...these shoes are great!!! The comfort and flexibility are amazing! :)These are pretty awesome looking shoes, but they fit very snug. I wear a 5.5 so I decided to order a size 6 to be on the safe side, and as I said, they're still pretty tight. I plan to keep these in hopes that just walking around the gym, lifting weights and treadmill will loosen them up. To give a little further perspective to anyone ordering these in the future, I'm a petite person, my feet are considered small and narrow so if I went up a half size and they're still tight, I might suggest people who fit my body type go up a full size. Otherwise, cool looking shoe and the footbed seems very comfy as well.Mann läuft sehr gut mit dem Schuh und ist auch warm die Größe passt !Mala calidad, talla pequeña y mal rematada. No recomendable.dos veces puerta y ya se despego ls puntera.gracias.sin nada mas que decir
