Love the manufacturer! But this one way too small.Need 12 .Full quality for the price. Xcel is a much better premium product than other brands , roxy , o'neil , and better real world sizing.I have been wearing a 3mm wetsuit for snorkeling/lobstering in the Florida Keys in January and February, but sometimes get cold with prolonged exposure. I borrowed one of these jackets from a friend to wear over my wetsuit and it makes all the difference! The sleeves fit snugly, which helps to keep me warm. I imagine that you could wear this alone in warmer water conditions. These jackets run very small. Based on the borrowed jacket I bought a size 12, which is quite snug. For reference, I normally wear a size 8 (small) 34D bra, so you might want to size up.I ordered this item in a 12 (my usual shirt size is a 10 or 12) to wear during aqua jogging workouts that I do in a pool with temps at 80 degrees or less. So many reviews of wetsuit jackets said they were much too tight, so I decided to try the 12. Although if fit well waist down and in the arms, pool water rushed in at the neck and the top part was just too loose. Thus, with each new rush of water that comes in, I felt the cold all over again. After trying it about 10 times, I just gave up and decided it was better to be cold all at once and try to get used to it rather than in repeat bouts of incoming water. All in all, this was not a solution to my dislike of cold water.I was thrilled to find this jacket. Initially I was hesitant to make the purchase, unsure of the sizing (wetsuits seem to run small) and reluctant to pay the price (would I use it enough to make it a worthwhile purchase?). I am so glad I went ahead and ordered it! I wear a 14-16 and ordered the 14, which is a perfect fit for me in the water. (I had tried another brand which was clearly made for a man, too long, and the neophrene reeked). Although I live in the desert southwest, I typically don't use our community pool during the winter months, now, thanks to this jacket, I am able to do my aqua therapy without getting chilled. Great fit, construction and materials.So happy I bought this! Didn't want to take full wetsuit on vacation for snorkeling so took a chance on this, having never tried one on before. I'm a small person 5'2" 105lbs usually wear a 2/4 in clothing. Ordered a 6. The forearms did feel a little tight when I tried it dry. I will probably order an 8 to try but didn't have time then. I packed it and thought I'd give it to my daughter if it was tight. I put it on for snorkeling in San Juan and never really thought about it being tight. Was so glad I had it!!! It feels so well made and doesn't restrict my movement. I love it!Perfect fit and worth the extra cost. As a plus-size woman I found it difficult to find the right fit. I ordered men's, but they were too big. Finally I found this and it was a women's and true to size. I will use this for water aerobics in the winter, as the pool is outside at our fitness center. I look forward to seeing how the cinch works, as it is snug already around the hips as it should be. I hope it really doesn't work itself up when I exercise.Bought this jacket so I could swim in an outside heated pool during the winter. I tried it out when we had a cold, windy day and it worked exactly as I had hoped. The arms are a little wide, but that's perfect for exercising. The core fits well, allowing for different body types, and the zipper is easy to work. I lost a dress size this summer walking in the pool for 60-90 minutes a day. I didn't want to lose the momentum this winter and this jacket will help me do just that! I don't know what your needs are, but this jacket is easy to wash and it does dry quickly.
