I ordered this squat rack to complete our COVID home gym. We're on a pretty tight budget, but I decided to go for this rack over cheaper squat stands for for safety. I'm glad I did, we love this thing. It's perfect for squats, overhead press, bench press, and any other lifts that require a rack. The pull-up bar is a great addition as well. We are very space limited, so the small footprint of this rack is greatly appreciated. Our flat bench is 41 inches long and fits between the uprights for easy storage.Quality: This squat rack is very sturdy. We have only put 275 on it so far, but it seems very strong and stable. I don't have any worries about putting more weight on the bar. The welds look good, the steel is thick, and it's held together by big bolts. The J-hooks and spotter arms are lined with hard plastic, which protects the barbell. It's holding up well so far to wear and tear.Stability: The squat rack will move around when you rack heavy weights unless you bolt it to the ground or put a bunch of weight on the plate holders. The rack itself only weighs 83 lbs, so if you bulldoze into it with a 300 lb loaded barbell, it will move a bit. I have no fears that it will tip over, but it can be disconcerting. You just have to be gentle when you re-rack. Based on my research, this is an issue with virtually every half rack/squat stand on the market that isn't bolted to the floor. They just don't weigh enough to stay in place on their own. You either need to weight them down with extra plates, bolt them down, or have a spotter stand on the back and hold it. This rack does have holes for floor bolts, but we rent so it's not an option for us.Safety: One of the main reasons I chose this rack was the spotter arms. Many squat racks/stands at this price point either don't have them at all, or they're too short to be useful. Even the CAP Barbell racks similar to this one make you purchase the spotter arms separately (and of course, they're sold out everywhere). Fortunately I haven't needed the spotter arms yet, but I've used them for some rack pulls and they're sturdy. They are a good length and I'm happy to have them, especially if I'm lifting alone.Size: I think this squat rack would work for 99% of people. Height-wise, it's very adjustable. The reason I mention this is because with some of the cheaper squat stands, they don't extend high enough for tall people to squat. It's not an issue here. The rack has holes basically the full length of the uprights where the J-hooks can be placed. Unless you're like 8 feet tall, this rack should be useable anyone.Value: I paid $215 for the rack, with free shipping (I've noticed the price has changed a couple times). It's an excellent value for the money. The other squat stands I was looking at were $150-200, but I think this rack was a much better value for the money, even though it cost a little more. You'll be hard pressed to find another product that has a pull-up bar, safety arms, real J-hooks, and an 800 lb capacity at this price point.Shipping: Some of the comments report damaged parts during shipping. Our rack was securely packaged and undamaged upon arrival. None of the pieces were bent and all the connectors on the end were wrapped in cardboard to protect them. The rack actually arrived a day early (7 days after I ordered), so no shipping delays or anything.Assembly: This rack was a breeze to assemble. Maybe took me half an hour, with some intermittent help from my boyfriend. It will definitely be easier if someone can give you a hand to hold things, but definitely could be done alone. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Tools were included, but assembly will go much faster if you have a socket wrench, FYI. You'll want an 18mm socket.Minor complaints: Overall I really like this rack. I'm glad I purchased it and honestly, would buy again. I do have a couple small gripes. First, the pull-up bar is not knurled. It can be a little slippery, especially if your hands are sweating. Not a deal breaker, but if you're primarily buying this for pull-ups, something to consider. The rack will also move around if you do kipping pullups unless you put heavy weights on the plate holders or bolt it donw. Second, the spotter arms are too narrow for my boyfriend when he benches. He has a pretty long wingspan, so this won't be an issue for most normal sized folks (it's not even close to an issue for me). If you are concerned about it and spotter arms for benching is a deal breaker for you, I'd recommend measuring your wingspan from elbow to elbow. The distance between the uprights (and thus the spotter arms) is 42 inches, so if your elbow-to-elbow width is close to that or greater, you might clip the spotter arms.Overall, I give this squat rack a 5/5 rating. It's a great option if you're on a budget and need a squat rack with a small profile. It is strong and sturdy, and has everything you need to lift safely at home. I might have shelled out more money for a real power rack if I owned a home with a garage. But for my apartment patio gym, this is the perfect piece of equipment. This is a really nice quality Half Rack for the price. I've had several other Racks in the past and while they were nice in there own rights. This current Half Rack definitely serves it purpose. Would definitely purchase this Half Rack again. This is great. It makes the small room it is in a little tight, but it is high qualityLove this rack. I have had it for about a year. We have added a low and high row pulley system by going to the hardware store and getting a longer cable than what comes with standard pulley systems. Some racks have holes on each side of the left and right column bars, this one does not have that, so a large pulley can’t go through the side bar. All you need to do is a get a few d block metal loops from the hardware store and place them at different holes to get your carabiner and pulleys in multiple positions. All in all, love this squat rack. We also use a TRX on it.Just assembled and used for a couple days i am very pleased and surprised with quality of this product. I wasn’t sure what to expect with buying something like this from Amazon. 100% recommendedVery good piece of equipment. Handles weights well, easy on the bar knurling and lots of places for adjust heights of pull up bar and where to place catches for different exercises. If using bands make sure you have weights to hold down rig. This is a great, economical, space saving, squat rack. I have limited space in my garage, so this was the perfect option (I can't fit a power cage and had only approximatrly 20-inches of clearance behind my truck). It took approximately 1.5 hours to assemble (having a socket wrench helps) on my own.I previously had a Bang Tong & Li Squat Stand Rack (approximately $100). It was a good rack and worth buying if you can't fit this one, but I never felt comfortable or safe to perform squats on that stand (bench and military presses were fine). This Sunny Health Squat Rack has the safety, capacity, and features of higher end squat racks at a great price. It comes with weight plate holders and adjustable height pull up bar. I was even able to add a landmine attachment that fits perfectly. There are holes to bolt this to the ground, but the stand is perfect stable unbolted. I'm sure there are higher quality squat stands. But this is perfect given my current space constraints. Some drawbacks to consider (THAT ARE COMPLETELY OUTLINED IN OTHER REVIEWS AND DISCLOSED), are the 0.8 inch peg holes so typical 1 inch attachments from other brands won't fit. There are however attachments you can buy from Sunny Health that fit this squat stand. Additionally, if you have this backed up against a wall, the largest plate you will be able to fit is a 10 pound plate. Also, a 6 foot bar CAN fit this rack, however the spacing needs to be 47 inches between loading pins (see photo, my Sporzon 6' barbell doesn't fit, but the Titan 6' barbell will fit). Other than these minor drawbacks, I am very pleased with this rack.I really love how much this added to my simple home gym. Really felt like I upgraded it when I installed this. It's so low profile for a rack I felt like I didn't have to sacrifice too much space to add it. Feels like you're getting a lot for the price. Mine does wobble a bit even after diligently tightening the bolts and adding the weight plates on it. Not enough for me to worry too much though. In fairness I don't have it bolted to the ground like they suggest. Overall great, love having this added to my home garage.Best rack for your home gym hands down.It was easy to assemble, mine came with tremendous welds that I inspected. There is probably some work to be done at manufacturing with Quality Control based on some comments, missing parts, poor fittings.Mine out of the box was fitting smooth. Here in a week. I did have a bit of looseness in one of the apotter arms but nothing I havent seen before in many other racks.I had a broken plastic footing that I will contact the company about and update later on their quickness or lack thereof.Holds myself, 190lbs, plus weighted pullups without any plates.Im 6'4/5 ish and with my small basement ceiliing I have the pull up bar at the bottom rung and still walk under with much room.Solid rack. Have done rack pulls at 350 without it bolted just to see. No problem. Will bolt down once footing comes in.Minimal footprint. Olympic bar no problem. Solid welds. Good fittings.Odd spacing holes so limits attachments.Really just a dip bar needed.Lat attachments are cheap to make with wire and pulleys guys. There are holes at bottom for a landmine attachment or as Im doing, a pulley system attachment for cable pulls.390 I paid. Incredible.800lbs.Getoutttaaa here. Last rack I own. Lets hope.Took only 8 days to arrive. It took myself (29 yo female) 1 hour to build alone, very easy. It is extremely sturdy once put together. I was worried we would have to bolt it to the floor but I think it will be fine without that. It looks great in our gym. I’ve only done one work out so far but it was great and I have no problems with anything. Originally I wanted a full rack but that would have made our space pretty tight. With all the positive reviews on this rack I took the chance and I am so glad I did! I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a good price of equipment. Great quality and a great price!Best priced half rack on the market currently. Bought on sale for $360.My basement ceiling is around 86-87 inches of height. I was worried that I would have to use the pull up bar in reverse but it wasn't necessary. The lowest setting is just right. I can go wide grip for my back exercises and won't hit the ceiling pulling up. Just perfect. My 6 foot standard barbell fits nice on this after i adjusted the bar. This product took about 2 hours to assemble but I took my time inspecting all the welds and looking for damages of which there were none. The plate storage has the option of holding the 1 inch weight plates which is bonus. I am excited about getting back into bodybuilding. Pumping Iron is where its at. If you're thinking about starting a home gym then i highly recommend you consider this solid piece of equipment.BUYER BEWARE. Before purchasing I read some of the reviews and saw there were quite a few involving parts that were not properly machined, poor customer service, etc. I took the risk and ordered the squat rack anyway. What a headache it was and I 100% regretted my decision. After spending 2 hours assembling the rack I went to insert the right safety bar and the peg was slightly too big to fit into any of the holes. I contacted Sunny about it and found out it’s true, their customer service is very bad. On Feb 28 I told them about the issue and a few days later responded requesting the part number, etc. They did offer to ship me the part but it was not until Mar 21 that they sent a request for the part to their department. By Apr 4 I still didn’t hear anything back and finally just decided to get the part machined myself by a local shop. If you are willing to deal with their slow response time then it might be worth it but it was agonizing to go through the process and not be able to use the rack for months. It’s also clear that the quality of the machining is rather poor and not standardized according to the machinist I spoke with. If I could go back in time I definitely would have chosen a different seller. It’s a really good rack for the price. Probably the best you can have for your money. It’s sturdy and stable, easy to put together and hold very well. I tried pull-up, squat, bench press, using a pulley, it stayed stable and I felt secure working out in it. I would recommend this rack for beginner to intermediate athlete who will use less than 200lbs for their lifting otherwise you would have to fix the rack it the ground. As other comment says, it’s true that some part came deformed. But if you have tools at home it easy to put the piece back in a good shape.
