I LOVE the colors of this yoga mat! I love all the options for beautiful colors and patterns. I prefer thicker mats and this one was just a little thinner than my other mat, but it’s actually just fine! I does seem like this one is a bit smaller than my other one though.This is a great mat perfect for my morning and evening yoga routine! Definitely a great purchase!Just got my mat last week and I am very happy with it so far. Great price.Perfect and great value.Love the colors....4mm a little too thin for my bad knees. Will be looking for thicker yoga mat to pad this one underneath.Summary:This is a basic PVC yoga mat that is suitable for home or studio use. It is available in various colors, lovely design, lightweight, average grip, isn't sweat proof, signs of wear are inevitable and will appear quickly. Along with the mat you receive a bonus free yoga workout (that you need to download).I’ve been using this mat for several months before writing this review. I’m practicing yoga 3-5 times a week (Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Power Yoga) and already tried several mats.The pros:Relatively affordable – This was the first yoga mat that I purchased for myself. When I began practicing yoga, I didn’t know if I’m going to be consistent. That’s why I preferred to start with something simple and upgrade over time. And among the possible yoga mats that were available (on Amazon in my case), this model of GAIAM yoga mat was one of the least expensive.Nice colors & prints – There are various combinations of vivid colors & paintings for this mat. I believe most of you will find at least one design that would earn your attention.Non-toxic & 6P free - According to the Amazon product page, this latex-free mat is free of six of the most harmful phthalates ("...PVC yoga mat is a healthier choice for you and the planet and free of DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP and DNOP").I'm not a certified authority to confirm those terms, thus I will have to trust the GAIAM's promises that this is an environment-friendly mat.Lightweight - The mat doesn't weight much and is easy to carry, which makes it suitable for travel.Doesn't stink - So far, the mat didn't catch any sweat odor, which is a good sign.You get free yoga class – purchasing the GAIAM yoga mat grants you a free bonus downloadable yoga workout to help get you started.The cons:Basic mat – eventually, this is a basic yoga and exercise mat. You probably will be able to find similar mats in many stores (on-line & off-line).In my opinion, what differentiates this mat from others, is the GAIAM brand that is considered a familiar brand, and the lovely designs.Durability – Most yoga mats eventually show signs of wear and tear. This specific mat lasted quite well in the several months I’ve been using it, but it showed signs of wear after several practices (scratches, the print goes off a slowly). I believe extensive use will cause the print to disappear fast.Curves on the edges - Even after several months of use, the edges of the mat are still rounded because I roll the mat before/after the practice. Maybe there's a solution to that, but I'm the kind of user that wants to open-practice-roll back till next practice kind of person. Thus, I prefer a mat with minimum maintenance requirements.Overall, I think this is an OK mat for beginners. And yet, I believe there are better alternatives though, especially if you’re into Yoga.Please note I attached to this review photos of my GAIAM yoga mat.Very pretty colorsThis mat is super cute, but despite all the little raised bumps there is 0 friction. I slip and slide all over this mat even outside a heated yoga class. Add the heat, and it’s game over. I had to buy a towel to go with it and it’s still not quite what I was hoping for, but we’re making it work over here.It’s a really pretty mat and I was super happy with it at first! I’ve had 2 yoga mats in the past and my last one was so so slippy and stretchy on my floorboards that I really didn’t want to make a mistake with this one, and was planning to get a much more expensive one to make sure it wasn’t going to disappoint, and it was going to last (have spent about £60 on 3 mats in last 6 years so thought I should spend a bit more for something that will actually last but I told my partner I wanted to get a £100 mat , manuka, and he thought I was crazy) Sadly, I wish I’d done this. I like the texture, however it’s really noisy? Whenever I move, and very distracting. It also stretches in downward dog/warrior poses which I find really annoying and distracting. I wanted it to be all purpose too, so I could do my HIIT workouts but it’s slipping all over the place when I do burpees etc which is really dangerous so I end up having to use an old mat for this. Wish I’d gone for the jade or Manuka now :( maybe it’ll improve in time as I’ve only been using it a couple days! But yeah, I’d recommend investing a bit more if you’re planning to use it each day. In my (surprisingly extensive) research of yoga mats I read a good yoga mat means you shouldn’t even think about it at all/know it’s there- this one I am definitely constantly thinking about how much it is annoying me ?I bought this mat after having one that was way too thick and this is perfect! I do practise on a carpet though so it might be a bit too thin for a hardwood floor. Other than that, it grips very well (had no problems with any poses) and I've not noticed any sign of wear on it.Only slight negative is having to air it out for 2-3 days as it does stink a lot and your whole house will too (unless you can put it outside).I absolutely love this yoga mat.it is so beautiful&stylish!! It's soft and sticky(in a good way) when I use it my yoga class.the down side was a little rubber smell in the first few day so you have to use it more often then!delivery was quick in a good condition,over all 10/10 well done!! Also recommend to anyone.Will buy again when this one finish,thanksGood mat for a yoga newbie like me. Nothing too fancy. Does slip a bit when you have sweaty hands / feet, but keeping a towel nearby during practice always fixes that problem for me. Then again, I'm not that experienced and I'm not doing any head stands or more advanced poses. The color is great - subtle, but bright and fun. Bought it with the blue mat bag from Gaiam. I like both products.Far too thin, you may as well not use it.
