we received these kettles in pristine condition and they have a very nice, thick vinyl in a pink that is well represented by the color here on the item detail page... what you see is what you get! :-)the handles, are cast iron, but smooth enough with coats of gloss black paint and are a good grip; just right, not too smooth or not too rough... so, it is a nice grip with bare hands and no gloves are required, unless you use a lot of greasy hand moisturizer... my wife uses a non-greasy hand moisturizer and has no problems with her grip.and, finally, a great buy for very nice, 5 lb kettles @ $7.88 each ... my wife uses them 5 days a week and she is very pleased!Thank you. :-)
