Im fairly health conscious and this year mad an effort to be active daily- I'm on my feet all day at work running around all day, but on my off days I often find myself sitting around the house or in a car, and I wanted to make my off days as active as my work days and increase the activity I get at work so have been wearing a pedometer for the last 8 months or so. I that time I've gone through 4 pedometers that have either broken, one lost (fell off my belt loop) or were too complicated to use I ended up returning. So now just a little time into my 5th pedometer (this one) I'm loving the simple programming, easy to read/understand interface, and overall versatility this pedometer provides! The clip design is great- I typically clip it to my belt loop but it can also clip on keys, purses, or its small/slim enough to slip in your pocket. I've even clipped it to my shoelaces when I've got nothing else and it's so lightweight it's hardly noticed it!The device is simple to set up. On one side is the screen which has a large, easy to see/read, in back are 4 buttons: mode, set, reset, and function, and at the bottom it turns into a large Caribeaner clip so you can easily clip it and take it everywhere you go! When you're not being active, the Devi d shuts off after 3 minutes without movement as to save battery power and then turns back in as soon as you take a step- great for people like me who would never remember to switch it on or off- I love that this little guy only goes when you go!Also love the 7 day memory storage so that you can compare your activity to the days before and see if you've been slacking or keeping up with your activity.Overall this is a great little device that I absolutely recommend! I've tried all sorts of fitness bands/watches/apps and they've all fallen short on my expectations and most were quite costly- but I still believe nothing beats a good old fashioned pedometer, and this one is a great and affordable one to have! Highly recommendThis little gadget is wonderful. It was not too difficult to set up--doesn't require blue tooth, doesn't have to sync with a smart phone or anything. It tracks steps, miles, calories, minutes and shows the time of day. It shows info in metric or US. It is so easy to carry in hand, purse, or pocket. I have it with me everywhere I go and find that it motivates me to park farther away from my destination to get in some more steps/mileage. When I take my daily walk, I find that I extend it a little each day. I can set a target number of steps for the day, and this device notifies me when I've reached the target. I always exceed it. It stores daily info for seven days, so that I can see how I'm doing on average as well as for the particular day. It resets at midnight, so that I start the next day fresh, but yesterday's info is stored and can be read. For such a small gadget, the display area is quite easy to read. The display goes blank after about 30 seconds when it detects no motion. After I had mine for two weeks, my husband wanted one too. He now has his and is all set up to enjoy it as I am enjoying mine. I hardly ever give anything 5 stars, but I really think this is a 5-star item.Like so much of today's tech gear that works off human input, this li'l dohicky wants to know your weight and length of stride to be 100% accurate, then maybe it is and maybe it isn't (100% accurate.) Not sure what my weight has to do with my walking, but when I hike my stride is often determined by the trail - sometimes maybe 36", sometimes maybe 28", etc., so where does that leave 'accuracy?" It seems fine for flatland walkers/runners, but for hikers a bit of a stretch - all that being said, if you want pretty decent "estimates" of trail distances, and aren't looking to spend $300+ for an trekkers watch or GPS device - this is your deal. It clips nicely onto a day pack or belt loop.I had a wrist counter, sleep monitor and heart rate monitor. I hated it. It was awkward on my wrist and I sweated underneath it.With this devise, it is easy peasy. I absolutely love it. I don't have to stress out if I don't get enough "deep sleep". My body tells me. I feel energized when I know just how many steps I take a day. I can adjust up or down as needed. The face is very visible and readable. Even with my old eyes. It is easy to set up and easy to use. I actually take down the steps in my calendar where I have all of my daily activities. I find it to be very accurate. My Sweetie has a wrist step counter and we are in sink most of the time when we do things together.Today I am buying him one of these to use!Bought this few days ago and have used 2 days. Was okay recording the steps for my walks. Then started to just just go off. I know the info says will do this if battery low charge or inactivity/use but this wasn't the case. I was motivated to use each day. Then yesterday reset over and over same thing immediately went off. This morning going to the info with the pedometer to remove the battery and it would improve. And at each use this morning is recording my steps. Hope it continues as I liked the easy tracking and motivation to get 5-10k steps each day. For the price still expect something dependable. This made a great gift for my grandmother who walks daily but is not tech savvy enough for activity tracker apps. The clip is my favorite aspect of this pedometer. It can be attached to clothing or accessories like a purse. The large print display is perfect for my grandmother. The display is simple enough and has information listed easily; steps on the large block area, time below. The memory ability will be great for her to keep track of her goals and progress. There is some setup that has to be done but I didn't find it hard at all. I decided to get the pedometer setup for my grandma so it would be ready for her straight out of the box. I had to unscrew the screw covering the battery and pull the battery tab to start the pedometer. This is a great gift to give and my grandmother loves it!Best pedometer that I have bought. Usually I have trouble setting them up but this was really easy. It does everything it claims to and the display easy to read and very accurate compared to my old pedometer.I have had no problems with it falling off the clip is very secure .previously pedometers fall off my waste band but this has not fallen off once while carrying out my daily activities including physical exercise and walking.Worth every penny ,highly recommended.Simple to use has several functions e.g. seven day tracker, distance but I only wanted the step counter. Clips discretely onto my bra strap, handbag and waistband - I don't always have belt loops or a pocket so needed something that was adaptable.Have tried counting steps myself to see how it compares and have found it to be pretty accurate.Very useful to know how long have you walked or the steps you took throughout the day. I am a nurse myself and we always walk so much during our long shifts. At the end I always used to wonder how many steps would I have taken in total. Now I know it exactly... which is nearly 55 thousand on average. But I do recommend to make it more user friendly, as it is a bit harder to navigate as all the buttons are in the back side of the screen. Otherwise it is perfect. The best pedometer I have bought at the price. It Attached to a belt loophole or on a lanyard round the neck. It is very light and I find it light. Reads steps, distance walked, time spent walking and calories used.Overall I am fairly pleased with the pedometer, however I found the instructions on set up and usage very confusing and not at all straightforward. Hence the low rating. I am not sure about accuracy - I have made a general assumption that it is accurate. I have not attempted to include all the available functions as I found it too difficult to set them up. I am using the basic step counter only.
