Positives: the Scripture is well-integrated into the program, something that is often lacking in other Christian exercise DVDs. The leader isn't wearing skimpy clothes that distract or cause body envy. She's clearly strong and in good shape.Negatives: The production quality is not what I'd hoped. I don't watch TV and rarely watch movies, so it's not like I'm expecting to see something from prime time or cable. While the modesty of clothing was greatly appreciated, there is a fine line between modesty and frump. This definitely goes into the frumpy category. Also, some of the exercises are not explained well, nor were enough modifications given for specific problem areas that people tend to have (back, knees).Compared to WholyFit (another Christian exercise program), PPM has better integration of Scripture and better modesty, but gets lower marks for poor production and overdoing the modesty to the point that it interferes with being able to see what the leader is doing with her shoulders, abs, back - things that the viewers need in order to perform the exercises correctly.I really, really wanted to like this program, but ended up giving away the DVD - twice. It's come back to me both times with similar comments to those that I've made here. Hopefully the next version of this program will show some improvements. While I do enjoy the workout presented, the fitness leaders dress sort of frumpy. I understand not being sexy or showy, but come on ladies. You don't have to look like you're in a refugee camp either. If you're used to traditional yoga, you'll recognize the postures. At first the sing-song scripture recitations and positive chants were too corny to endure. However, after doing the routines a few times, I realized it's actually uplifting to recite the Bible verses out loud. It gets in your head, yo! Moreover, it gets in your heart! My daughter and I really like this workout. As well as edifying scriptures, we are amazed at how much strength this work out takes. You can be a beginner and benefit, like us. But we realize how much we need this workout to strengthen us - Laurette must be really strong. My daughter is only 18 years old and is challenged by the moves. We recommend it for toning, strengthening, and flexibility improvement.I love the fact that this product is rooted in the Word. It is great to get the physical benefits of yoga without the spiritual background. However, to live up to the name "Power" Praise Moves there was way too much stopping during the routine. In order to get the same great workout that yoga offers, the movements should stay as continual as possible. I will still use this product on one of my "active rest days", but do wish it offered a little more sweat.Yes!!! Finally I have found something that both stretches and praises Jesus! This is wonderful. If you're looking for an intense workout, this probably isn't it but it's perfect for off days and stretching. For those who are worried that it's just a renaming of yoga moves, God reminded me that He renamed many in the bible once they rose to meet their purpose.I did not expect this to be as challenging as it was physically - great workout! Nor did I expect it to be as praise filled as it is - it is nearly impossible to not worship God while doing this! Such a wonderful way to honor God with my body!this one AND her alphabet dvd are AWESOMEIt's the perfect workout if you're a Christian but like the yoga-type workouts.I thought this might be either annoyingly American or too easy, but I'm happy to say neither is true. I'd been attending a local Yoga class for a year and enjoyed the poses but thought the meditation and breathing was getting a bit deep for me. I wanted a video with more moves and less "balancing my ying and yang". This fits the bill. The moves are quite challenging, even more so than my yoga class, I was certainly warm after the warm-up section! In addition I hope the use the opportunity to commit some scripture to memory, something I have always struggled to do. Some of the moves are the same as those in my yoga class but quite a lot are different.I'd recommend this to any Christian who likes yoga but is concerned that yoga is not good for their journey with ChristThere is a longer workout for 35 minutes and two other 25 minutes ones. There is also an abs workout . It depends on how much time you ahve but I find someitmes just doing the 35 minute workout is good enough. It can be a repetitive session as she goes through them and then goes through it again with the scripture. Very enjoyable. HIghly recommended. Felt more challenging than the 20 minute praise moves. This DVD kept the daughter-in-law on the move in a very positive way, helping her with weight loss and general well-beingFairLove the exercise. Clear and easy to follow. Bought a few others to add to my collection.
